Create and Generate Information
After having gathered and structured all the product information at one central place (PIM or other content management environments), the next logical step for MediaMine is to set up a Publication Manager (PuM). A PuM is an application that will create and generate validated publications (print, web, etc). It communicates with the PIM or other content data sources (DAM, CRM, ERP) and enables you to:
- Collect and aggregate content from those different sources;
- Prepare the content for the specific publication (print, web, etc). This includes but is not limited to:
- Definition and configuration of the publication;
- Editing of text, attributes, media;
- Selection of the to be used output templates;
- Generate the correct output for the specified publication. This can be a print ready file (in QuarkXpress, InDesign, PDF, ...) or a structured file for electronical use (eg. XML) to feed dynamically e-Commerce and other Content Management Systems.
Depending on the defined publication process, MediaMine can set up two kinds of publication managers:
- On demand: The desired output is automatically generated when it receives the selected information.
- Page based: A workflow is started to notify users to perform the necessary actions to create the publication.
